The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata has been raking in the awards lately.

But the two big ones are the major accolades from the World Car Awards just a few weeks ago. Jurors, who made the final decision giving the MX-5 Miata the crown, said of the model:

The Mazda MX-5 Miata has been rocking some big waves in the automotive world, making sports-car dreams more accessible to the everyman than they have been before. If rumors are to be believed, Mazda is about to change the game again by introducing a power-retractable hardtop version of the MX-5 Miata. Previous generations of this slick roadster have featured the hardtop, but this generation sports only soft-tops. So far.
