The 2026 Mazda CX-5 introduced an all-new design with increased rear leg, knee and headroom, expanded rear cargo space, and an available 15.6-inch integrated center touchscreen display. The 2027 CX-5 carries forward these design, space, and technology enhancements.
A Mazda Hybrid powertrain is confirmed and will launch in 2027.

The 2027 CX-5 is powered by Mazda's SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, which produces 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ AWD®.
The 2027 Mazda CX-5 has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 24 MPG city, 30 MPG highway and 26 MPG combined.

All Mazda crossover SUVs, including CX-5, feature i-Activ All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) as standard. i-Activ AWD® provides functionality beyond that of a typical 4WD or AWD system. Unlike basic AWD systems that react to a spinning wheel, i-Activ AWD® is always engaged and proactively monitors vehicle dynamics data in real time to watch for variations in wheel loads that a driver may not notice. The system then automatically controls the distribution of torque to provide predictable handling when driving on unpaved roads or in difficult conditions.7

The Mazda CX-5 can seat up to five people, with seats that are shaped for a comfortable and relaxed posture. The Mazda CX-5 can accommodate car seats in any of the rear seat positions.
The 2027 CX 5 includes an enhanced suite of standard i-Activsense® Advanced Driver Assistance System features first introduced with the 2026 model, including Rear Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, and Forward Turn-Across Traffic Braking.8

Also, the 2027 CX-5 continues to feature Emergency Lane Keeping, Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with speed limit assist, as standard equipment.9
Available Cruising and Traffic Support with Lane Change Assist feature, as well as an available 360° View Monitor, offer added confidence and driver support.10
Remote Engine Start is a feature of Mazda Connected Services (MCS). Once a CX-5 has been registered with MCS via the MyMazda app, owners will have access to a variety of information and remote services, including Remote Engine Start. A one-year trial subscription to Mazda Connected Services is included with the purchase of every new 2027 Mazda CX-5, monthly subscriptions apply thereafter.11

The CX-5 offers expanded cargo space compared to the previous generation, without sacrificing comfort and capability for the driver and passengers. The rear seats can also be folded down to provide additional space for larger items.12
