Last week, the Northwest Automotive Press Association held its 22nd annual Activity Vehicle of the Year competition (also known as Mudfest), which consisted of two long days of evaluating several utility vehicles and picks in both on- and off-road situations.
Yesterday, Mazda issued a press release announcing an impressive showing for the all-new 2016 CX-3. Thanks to its i-ACTIV all-wheel drive system, and despite entering with the lowest ground clearance in the field, the capable crossover was able to drive away with the title of Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year in the Compact Utility Segment.
“I think the Mazda CX-3 was the biggest surprise for our members,” said Ryan Douthit, event chair and producer of Driving Sports TV. “Not only did this subcompact crossover excel on our sealed-surface handling course, it also showed surprising capability on our rugged off-road circuit.”
The fifth vehicle in Mazda's lineup to feature the company's KODO--Soul of Motion design, the stylish and versatile CX-3 carries an MSRP of just $19,960.
